Welcome from our executive director

Ms. VaLonda harris

Welcome to Boston Prep.

Here at Boston Prep we believe that every student deserves an excellent education that challenges them to reach their full potential and equips them with the knowledge, character, confidence and skills to lead a life of purpose and infinite possibility

Whether you are a prospective family, community partner, donor, or simply interested in learning more about our school, thank you for taking the time to get to know Boston Prep. We are proud of the community that we have built over the past two decades and we are immensely grateful for everyone that believes in what is possible for our students!

Since opening our doors in 2004, we have been guided by our mission that is both ambitious and deeply personal: to prepare ALL students to succeed in four-year colleges and embody, in thought and action, lifelong ethical growth. We believe that our commitment to educational equity requires us to provide every student with both opportunity and high expectations. Our students deserve classrooms filled with joy, rigorous learning, and most importantly a community of adults who believe deeply in their potential and their ability to succeed.

But, at Boston Prep, our mission has never been simply about getting students into college. We want our graduates to become independent thinkers--people of integrity who are unafraid to form their own conclusions. We want them to be tenacious learners who perseverwhen the path becomes difficult, creative problem solvers  who have the courage to imagine what is possible when others see challenges. We want them to be conscious contributors who become the compassionate  leaders of tomorrow that our society so desperately needs. And when life doesn’t unfold as expected (as it rarely does), we want our graduates to know that they have the ability (and the community) to find their footing and move forward.

That commitment to our scholars is why we often describe Boston Prep as more than a 6-12 school. We are a 6-16 community, walking alongside our students through high school, college, and the transition into adulthood because:

once a phoenix, always a phoenix.

I am deeply grateful to our students, families, staff, alumni, board members, donors, and community partners whose commitment makes our mission possible. I invite you to learn more by visiting our campus, partnering with us, or joining the Boston Prep community.

Together, we can continue building a school where College is Our North Star, Ethics is Our Compass, and Excellence is Our Habit.
