On Thursday, February 28, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Phoenix Senate in recognition of Black History Month, will host a panel on the topic of police violence against black communities. This event will incorporate people outside of our own community who will discuss the experiences of the community with police violence, as well as the experiences of police officers. The panel will discuss the impact of police violence and solutions to the problems of institutionalized racism.This panel will explore how society views the African American community, how we can fight against unconscious bias, how we can fight against racial discrimination and the role of black excellence in challenging hegemonic narratives of black communities. It will be held within the HS cafe, where food will be served in addition to the panel happening. The panel will ultimately be concluded with a Q&A with the audience.
