BPCPS Students Post Amazing 2011 MCAS Scores
For the seventh year in a row, the students of BPCPS proved that their tremendous hard work produces outstanding results. The scores for the 2011 English, Math and Science MCAS exams show that BPCPS students surpassed their peers in the Boston Public Schools and across Massachusetts on the exams, with significantly higher percentages in the "Advanced" and "Proficient" categories, and almost no students in the "Warning" category. BPCPS 10th graders placed first in the state on the Math Exam. Congratulations to the students, teachers and families of BPCPS for showing once again that effort determines success.

Seniors Win Tuition Scholarships
In October of 2010, the BPCPS community received a remarkable piece of news. Based upon their MCAS scores, an unprecedented 93% of the BPCPS senior class received the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. This scholarship allows students to attend any Massachusetts state college or university tuition free.

BPCPS Leads Nation in Comprehensive Study
In 2009, the Effective Practice Incentive Community (EPIC), an initiative of New Leaders for New Schools, today announced the conclusion of the second year of a major, cross-state analysis of charter school achievement. Using a value-added model to analyze performance data from nearly 150 high-need charter schools across the country during the 2007-2008 school year, EPIC identified 21 schools that have made the most dramatic gains in student achievement. EPIC works with award-winning schools to identify and catalogue concrete, replicable practices that can be implemented in other schools serving similar high-need student populations. EPIC provides monetary bonuses to teachers and administrators in award winning school. In this study, BPCPS was a member of the "Gold Band:" including the highest performing five schools in the country! Schools in the Gold Band include:

Boston Preparatory Charter Public School - Hyde Park, MA
Higgs, Carter, King Gifted and Talented Charter Academy - San Antonio, TX
Mastery Charter School Shoemaker Campus - Philadelphia, PA
MATCH Charter Public School - Boston, MA
The Charter School of Excellence - Fort Lauderdale, FL
