BPCPS Students, Faculty Showcase Talents
On March 7th, 2008, the students and teachers of BPCPS performed in the school’s second annual talent show. A great deal of organization for the night’s event was contributed by students Kalila and Erikka. Performers rapped, sang, and danced. One highlight of the evening involved the faculty performing ensemble named "Souljah Dubois."

BPCPS Students Post Amazing 2007 MCAS Scores
For the third year in a row, the students of BPCPS proved that their tremendous hard work produces outstanding results. The scores for the 2007 English and Math MCAS exams were released. These results show that BPCPS students surpassed their peers in the Boston Public Schools and across Massachusetts on the exams, with significantly higher percentages in the “Advanced” and “Proficient” categories, and almost no students in the “Warning” category. Congratulations to the students, teachers and families of BPCPS for showing once again that effort determines success.

State Senator Visits BPCPS
On June 12th, 2007, students met State Senator Marian Walsh at a special Community Meeting. Since charter school legislation was passed, Senator Walsh has been an unfailing supporter of charter schools and of BPCPS. In fact, she cut the ribbon at the opening of BPCPS in August of 2004!

Senator Walsh spoke to students about the importance of ethical decision making and spoke of the role ethics play in her daily work. She shared her belief that, “That which separates us from a blade of grass, or from any other creature on earth, is our conscience and our heart.” During recess after Community Meeting, Senator Walsh spoke to students about careers in public service.
