-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our school offers a challenging academic program, with a 190-day school year, an 8˝ hour school day, and a mandatory Saturday program for students who are failing core academic classes. Students receive several hours of homework each night. Our school is safe and strict, with a required student uniform and serious disciplinary consequences for frequently overlooked misbehaviors such as disrespect and repeated class disruptions. BPCPS is an affiliate to the well-regarded Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter School (APR), and has replicated systems that enabled 100% of the first APR graduating class to attend college!

BPCPS is a free, public school. While there is no entrance exam for BPCPS, students and families must share the school's commitment to high expectations and hard work. Before the start of each school year, families, students, and school staff sign the BPCPS Contract for Excellence. To read the Contract for Excellence, click here.

Enrollment Process
Families interested in filling out the New Student Enrollment Application for the 2010-2011 6th Grade Class may contact our Administrative Assistant at 617-333-6688 ext. 110. Applications will be available in December of 2009.

New students for the 2009-2010 school year were selected in an independent public lottery held at BPCPS on March 11, 2009.

Summer Assignments
The purposes of our summer assignments for BPCPS students are to promote continuous study habits, to encourage reading for pleasure, to maintain mathematical skills, and to establish a springboard for class discussion in the fall. These assignments are due on the first day of classes and will be the first grades students will receive for the 2009-2010 school year.
